Kinco

Promote the development of intelligent manufacturing and the wide application of robots, and create a better life for all mankind through intelligent manufacturing

In 2025, embodied intelligent robots entered a phase of accelerated development with increasingly mature applications and gradually clarified requirements in motion control, perception and other core areas. As the key component of motion control, joint modules are built around frameless torque motors. As a core component supplier for robot motion control, Kinco has seen its FMC frameless torque motors widely adopted in the joints of embodied intelligent robots. Kinco holds distinct competitive advantages in the frameless torque motor sector.

In response to customers’ growing demand for core joint components, Kinco has officially launched its 4th-generation frameless torque motors – the FMK Series Frameless Torque Motors, together with the compatible RD Series Hollow Shaft Drives.

Kinco has launched its 4th-generation FMK Series frameless torque motors and RD Series hollow-shaft drivers. These products can be applied to the waist, shoulder, elbow, wrist and other joints of embodied intelligent devices. The FMK Series frameless torque motors deliver outstanding performance in wiring, layout, performance indicators, reliability and temperature rise. In parallel, the newly released RD Series hollow-shaft drivers are compatible with the FMK Series frameless torque motors, equipped with comprehensive protection functions and supporting multiple communication protocols, featuring high power density and compact size.

Kinco’s 4th-generation frameless torque motor has optimized the stator welding process and improved stator roundness. While ensuring superior performance, the motor length has been minimized to better meet customer application requirements. It also features an expanded large slot‑to‑hollow ratio and a large hollow shaft, along with optimized rotor manufacturing processes, making it better suited for embodied intelligence products and effectively reducing customers’ total cost of ownership (TCO).

Meanwhile, the Kinco FMK series frameless torque motors have further expanded their size coverage, essentially encompassing the mainstream joint module specifications available on the market, resulting in a more comprehensive range of size options for Kinco frameless products.

Product Features of Kinco FMK Series Frameless Torque Motors

Size Coverage Upgraded Again! The outer diameters of the 4th-generation FMK Series by Kinco now cover 25/38/43/50/60/70/85/115mm.

Kinco adopts a large-split design in lieu of the conventional large-hollow structure. With an increased rotor inner diameter, this solution is better tailored to the requirements of cable routing and circuit layout during the mechanical design of humanoid robots.

Process upgrades reduce the weight of the motor body and enhance power density, supporting customers in achieving lightweight development for the overall weight control of their embodied intelligent products.

Excellent temperature rise performance. Potting technology and electromagnetic optimization deliver outstanding temperature rise control.

It delivers exceptional performance in noise and vibration control, providing a smooth and coordinated experience for embodied intelligence products.

Kinco RD Series Hollow Shaft Actuator

Lightweight and compact with high power density, Kinco meets the dimensional requirements of various joint modules.

It supports multiple protection functions, including overcurrent, short circuit, IIT protection, overvoltage, undervoltage, and overtemperature.

Supports DI enable; when 2-channel DI are active simultaneously, the power supply of the driver chip is enabled.

It supports multiple communication methods: RS485 and EtherCAT are already supported, with a CAN interface reserved.

It is equipped with temperature detection interfaces for the reducer and motor, enabling real-time monitoring of the temperature rise of the Kinco motor and reducer.

Supports dual encoders and torque sensors.

Since its R&D and design in 2016, the Kinco frameless motor product family has been iteratively upgraded from the early STW1 to the current FMK series. Each update and iteration is based on an in-depth insight into market demands, as well as the collection and analysis of actual usage requirements and application pain points from numerous customers. In the frameless motor sector, the batch consistency and reliability of its products are industry-leading, and have been verified through years of practical application by customers.

In the field of low-voltage drives, Kinco’s expertise in low-voltage servo systems has long been recognized across the industry. Kinco has maintained a leading position in the shipment volume of low-voltage servo products in the market. The newly developed hollow-shaft driver not only inherits the company’s proven design experience but also features enhanced engineering optimization for seamless compatibility with frameless motors.

Kinco established its strategic focus on robotic motion control components as early as 2023, contributing to the robust development of the robotics industry. Currently, Kinco not only supplies frameless motors or drives separately to complete machine manufacturers for final assembly, but also supports module manufacturers with casing and OEM assembly services. Furthermore, Kinco possesses custom design capabilities to meet the unique requirements of diverse customers.

Kinco FMK Series frameless torque motors adopting the fourth-generation technology, together with the matching RD Series hollow-shaft drives, will officially start accepting orders in Q3 2025. These solutions will empower the robotics industry to make further strides in the segmented scenarios of embodied intelligence, accelerating the integration of embodied intelligence into daily life.
